THE POWER
PLANT TECHNOLOGY
The Azito Power Plant
represents more than a third of the electricity production in Côte
d’Ivoire e.g. 1,900 GWh per year. Since the beginning of operation in
1999, the total energy produced by the AZITO Power Plant amounts to
about 8,000 GWh. The availability and the capacity are always above
the guaranteed values. This performance is achieved thanks to the
competent and dedicated operating team, as well as the quality and the technology of
the installed equipments.

The GT 13 E2 gas turbines in AZITO Power Plant are characterized by:
-
a main supply with gas and oil in emergency;
-
a thermal block composed by an axial air compressor on 21 stages,
delivering pressurized air in the combustion chamber and a 5 stage turbine
with an axial exhaust;
-
an annular combustion chamber equipped with low nitrogen oxide
emission burners;
-
an air cooled alternator for power supply;
-
a cooling of the auxiliaries by a close circuit cooler with
demineralized water.
The final technical configuration of the Azito Power Plant
The AZITO power plant
will include at its final stage a combined cycle unit composed of:

recovery boilers and a
steam turbine with a condenser;

Cooling towers;

Fuel
supplying system (gas and oil in emergency);

demineralization plant;

Water pumping
